February 5 proved a memorable day for thousands of amateur athletes from around the world who signed their National Letter of Intent, accepting an athletic scholarship to their respective schools. This is something that over 85 Fury FC Academy players have been part of since 2003 and that list will grow again this year. With paperwork now official, Ottawa Fury FC is proud to announce that Academy goalkeeper Margot Shore has committed the the University of Pittsburgh where she will begin the next phase in her career this Fall.

"Margot is a great shot-stopping goalkeeper who also has a tremendous ability to read the game," said her new head coach Greg Miller. "She has very clean hands and can dominate the box area in the air. She is a very good vocal leader and can organize people well. Her Canadian Provincial experience will hopefully provide her the chance to vie for time in the goal."

Shore is the first of a handful of Fury FC Academy players that have been awarded athletic scholarships in the NCAA. As per club policy these individuals will be announced following a formal announcement from their respective school.

"I'm extremely excited to be starting this new chapter of my soccer career, especially with the University of Pittsburgh," said Shore. "I loved the athletic and academic atmosphere at Pitt from the first time I stepped foot on campus, and can't wait to start working with the amazing coaching staff later this year. I truly appreciate the help and opportunities that the Fury has given me and am so thankful to have been a part of the club!"
