In their most complete performance of the season, Ottawa Fury FC claimed a convincing 4-0 win over FC Cincinnati in Sunday's regular-season home finale as Carl Haworth and company sent their supporters home happy - fittingly on Fan Appreciation Day. Haworth scored himself a spot on the USL Team of the Week following his two-goal performance, the League announced Tuesday.
After Ottawa opened the scoring just four minutes into the match through Onua Obasi, Carl Haworth tallied nine minutes later for his first of the season and emphatically tossing the firmly rooted monkey off his back. From there the floodgates opened for Haworth who added a second goal just seven minutes after his first en route to a 4-0 Fury victory as Ottawa closed out the 2017 season with an impressive record of 8W-3D-2L at home that also saw the club eclipse the 100,000 mark for attendance for the first time in their history.
Fury FC will close out the 2017 USL season Saturday night in Pittsburgh against the Riverhounds at 7:30 p.m.
