On Tuesday, Canada Soccer announced the list of nominees for the 2017 Canada Soccer Player Awards, celebrating the top male and female footballers from the 2017 calendar season.
Ottawa's own and Fury FC product Ariel Young is among those nominated for Canadian U-17 Player of the Year.
The 16 year-old centre-back has developed training with Audra Sherman and the Fury FC's Women Program.
She made the U17 National Team in July and competed in the Four Nations Tournament in China, where she scored a match-tying header against the United States.
Earlier this month, she was called up Canada Soccer's Women's National Team where she suited up alongside Christine Sinclair and Desiree Scott for a series home-and-home friendlies versus the US.
Looking to 2018, Young could be a part of two Canadian squads in the upcoming CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship and FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
