We kicked off our #ForTheCommunity campaign with the Ultimate Soccer Mom.
Meet Véronique Potvin, a loyal Fury supporter, Mother of three highly competitive soccer athletes, and assistant manager of the U-12 Gloucester Hornets. If that weren’t enough somehow she finds time to play on her own adult rec team. Véronique is all over the Ottawa region and beyond, supporting her kids and the Fury and for her unrelenting effort and support of the beautiful game she has earned the title of Fury FC’s Ultimate Soccer mom.
With the help of her Jamar Dixon, Onua Obasi and Sparky we arrange a pre-Mother’s Day surprise for Véronique and her family including flowers, gift cards to her favourite restaurant and of tickets to our Mother’s Day match.
Véronique and her friends and family joined hundreds of mothers across the region to take-in our Mother’s Day Match. It was a beautiful afternoon and exciting match as Fury FC defeated North Carolina FC 2-1 on a late 2nd half goal by Kevin Oliveira.
To surprise some other Moms in Ottawa midfielder Charlie Ward and goalkeeper Callum Irving called moms on the phone to wish them a happy Mother's Day.
To end the month Luca Ricci and Jamar Dixon visited with her U-12 Gloucester Hornets Girls to work on their skills and get ready for their upcoming matches.
Next month we honour our heroes including a special group of student athletes at West Carleton High School.
