Ottawa Fury FC were very convincing Friday evening in their first preseason match of the season against local side Ottawa Internationals in a closed door friendly. They put on an impressive performance and picked up a 7-0 win.

Playing his first game in Fury FC colours, 6-foot-5 striker Tucker Hume was impressive, scoring four goals and using his size to his advantage on multiple occasions. Gerardo Bruna also had a strong performance with two goals and an assist on Hume's first goal of the game. Sito Seoane was the other goal scorer for Ottawa.

Seoane opened the scoring on a penalty kick early in the game, after Steevan Dos Santos was brought down in the box. Goalkeepers Callum Irving (first 30 minutes), David Paulmin (second 30 minutes) and Andrew McRae (third 30 minutes) were all brilliant and kept a clean sheet.

Fury FC will now head to Florida on Sunday for a week-long camp at IMG Academy in Bradenton with preseason fixtures against Saint Louis FC (February 21), OKC Energy (February 23) and FC Cincinnati (February 25).

Ottawa Fury FC open the USL season April 1 in Saint Louis with their All-Canadian home opener set for April 22 against Toronto FC II. Season tickets for the 2017 USL season are now on-sale at, by calling 613.232.6767 X1 or in person at The Box Office at TD Place.

What are they saying?
Fury FC Head Coach and GM, Paul Dalglish:
"Great first performance in general, I'm delighted that we scored a lot of goals and kept a clean sheet. At the end of the day that's what we want to do on a daily basis this year. We played with fire and a great desire to win and the guys responded well for a first test so early in camp."

Fury FC Forward, Tucker Hume:
"It's always nice to hit the net several times, but it was good to come out here and test ourselves against other players than our own. We're happy, we had a game plan coming in, we wanted to play hard and not let them have a lot of time with the ball while also scoring as many goals as possible."

"I think we achieved all that tonight and it's a good first step towards the direction we want to go in. For a first preseason game it was a good standard, now we want to continue to build chemistry and get even better," added Hume.
