Fury FC Assistant General Manager Carrie McKay was voted 2018 Eastern Conference Operations MVP.
OTTAWA - The United Soccer League kicked off its annual winter meetings on Tuesday by recognizing the best in club operations across the league as voted by its clubs. Ottawa Fury FC was awarded the 2018 Best Club Operations Overall prize, which is handed out to the club having shown high quality hosting standards and venues as well as an exceptional gameday experience, while Fury FC Assistant General Manager Carrie McKay was voted 2018 Eastern Conference Operations MVP for her outstanding professionalism and constant care.
“Ottawa’s commitment to professionalism is a great example for the rest of the league,” said USL Senior Vice President Brett Luy. “It’s terrific to have such a hard working staff among us — they deserve a great deal of credit.”
Entering their third season in the USL Championship, and sixth as a pro club overall, Ottawa Fury FC have built a reputation across the league as a leading organization, with exceptional services and administration, as well as first-rate installations highlighted by the club’s home venue at TD Place.

Having been with the club since their early days, Carrie McKay was promoted to Fury FC Assistant General Manager at the beginning of the 2018 season, joining a growing number of women who have moved into sporting executive roles in North America in recent years. Her passion, pride and dedication to excellence have made her a leading force with the organization and throughout the league.
The 2018 USL Winter Summit brings together executives and personnel from the USL clubs for an opportunity to share knowledge and industry trends. The conference continues until Wednesday in Tampa, FL.
Following Monday’s announcement of Haitian player Christiano François signing with the club and more announcements expected in the coming weeks, Ottawa Fury FC continue their work in preparation for the 2019 USL Championship season that is set to kick off in March.
